Scout.com recaps the four players who received Saturday invitations to Nike's The Opening this July at Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. All four are Texans and push the invitation list to this summer's The Opening to 103 players and counting.(SPARQ scores are unofficial until next week, according to Nike.)
Daylon Mack, DT, Gladewater (Texas)
Quick-hitter: Not surprisingly, Mack was impressive at Saturday's Nike Football SPARQ Combine. His SPARQ score was almost 90, which is very high for a player who weighed in at 317 pounds. The Texas A&M commit has more than 20 offers and is ranked by Scout.com as the No. 3 overall recruit in Texas and the No. 8 prospect in the country.
Sotonye Jamabo, RB, Plano (Texas) West
Quick-hitter: "Soso" Jamabo definitely looked the part Saturday. He said he was coming off a tweaked Achilles, but recorded a SPARQ score in the triple digits (109.2), which was better than he expected considering the injury, to grab decision-makers' attention and earn an invitation to The Opening.
Larry Pryor, S, Sulphur Springs (Texas)
Quick-hitter: Pryor, known as a strong, physical safety prospect who is committed to Texas A&M, weighed in north of 200 pounds (203) for the first time and backed up his size with a good showing in testing, resulting in a SPARQ score just shy of triple digits to earn The Opening invitation.
Maea Teuhema, OG, Keller (Texas)
Quick-hitter: Scout.com's No. 1-rated guard prospect in the nation capped the day's The Opening invitees. The LSU commit was impressive as usual. Few players weight as much as Teuhema but carry it as well as he does.
