The versatile lineman out of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove committed to the Hurricanes late in April, but decided Tuesday that he is ready to take a step back.
"I just rushed into the process and I want to slow my recruiting down," said Johnson. "I just need some time to think. I am still considering Miami, but I have decommitted."
Johnson is going back to "square one" and he is no rush to name leaders or commit to another school.
The 6-foot-3, 330 pound three-star is going to re-evaluate schools, take things slow, and he is just going to enjoy the final weeks of his junior year.
