Haynes Bomb Goes Viral
There's no doubting the power of the internet. This could not be more evident than when Manvel athlete Gary Haynes posted his Hail Mary to himself. What was just some kids playing in the country became a national story…quickly. Maxim, ESPN and World Star Hip Hop all picked up Haynes' Vine video. He stated that he wasn't doing it to get national attention, nor was it some sort of recruiting ploy, as he still holds the lone offer from Houston. He did mention though that he has enjoyed the added attention.
Since the video surfaced, Oregon has stopped by to check in on him and Abilene Christian wants him to visit stating that there is "good news awaiting him" once he makes the trip.
Sure he's got offers from nearly every school in the country (Arizona State did recently offer), but the consensus is that Marshall defensive back Kendall Sheffield is looking hard at the schools within the region, and even more so with the Lone Star borders. With that said, it has been reported on Longhorn Digest that Sheffield will be at Texas this weekend on an unofficial visit. With the importance of getting the five-star Sheffield in the fold, surely Charlie Strong and his staff will have all hands on deck.
Top 3 for Lampkin
Latest offers for Cy Falls defensive tackle Du'Vonta Lampkin was Texas Tech and Notre Dame. But earlier this week, Lampkin announced via twitter that Oklahoma, Texas and Oklahoma State as his Top 3 (in no order). Lampkin said he is no rush to make a decision after stepping away from his Oklahoma commitment in late April.
Offers Pouring In…
Jordan Tolbert from Ridge Point added to his offer count with a Big 12 (Oklahoma) and Pac-12 (Utah) offers late last week.
Houston was the latest to offer Elkins outside linebacker prospect Leroy Godfrey. The Cougars join North Texas and Colorado State.
Michigan State, UCLA and Arizona State are some of the latest programs to offer Manvel defensive back Deontay Anderson. The 2016 four-star defender has seen things really take off since his impressive showing that the Houston Nike Camp.
Defensive back James Locke (PJ) from Beaumont Central, is still on this listing after pulling in an offer from Penn State last Friday.
Jonathan Giles, a reciever prospect from Elkins posted via twitter that offer No. 8 came in. This one came from the SEC when Missouri made it known.
