It's hard to go unnoticed at 6'7 297 lbs, but up until recently that has been the story of Donald Wilkinson. The secret is out and the gigantic tackle out of Alta High School has been drawing a lot of attention this spring.
"A lot of schools are stopping by here this spring," Wilkinson explained. "Some came to check me out and others didn't even know I existed before they got here. But, I am getting a lot of interest and have been hearing a lot on facebook and through the mail."
Today, Wilkinson brought in a big offer from Nevada. The Wolfpack are his second offer, Northern Arizona offered a few weeks back. It wouldn't be surprising if the Nevada offer triggered a flurry of others to come in.
"I am really excited about the Nevada offer," Wilkinson said. "It kind of surprised me, but it was awesome when I found out they offered me. I don't know too much about them yet, so I am going to learn more in the next few days. I would love to try to get out an visit Nevada this summer and see what it is all about. But it is nice to have options with them and NAU. Hopefully more offers start to roll in."
"All the in-state schools have been recruiting me for a while now," Wilkinson claimed. "I grew up a Utes fan, so an offer from them would be a dream come true. I've been up there a few times on unofficial visits and will definitely get to their camp this summer. I'll also go to the BYU camp and the All-Poly camp."
Wilkinson has major upside and is likely to experience more recruiting activity as more schools come by and see him in person. He is a great student and has tremendous worth ethic in the classroom. Mix his smarts with his size and ability on the football field and you've got a pretty good looking prospect.
