Washington starting to turn heads
South Dakota was the first to offer Julius Washington, and South Florida followed. Washington isn't too familiar with the South Dakota program, but he plans to visit in the future. "I don't really (know much about it), I've talked to the coaches a few times, they tell me it's really nice, they've been keeping me updated on what's happening up there. They told me it's really cold up there. I can't wait to get up there this summer and visit," he said. USF is the in-state offer for the 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete, who is looking forward to visiting this summer and seeing the school up-close. "It's a nice program," he said. "I know it's on the rise. They're definitely going to be a winning program in the future. I'm just going to wait until I take my visit there in the future and see how it is down there, see how I like it and if it's a good fit." Iowa State, Georgia Southern, and Charleston Southern have all been showing interest in the Central Florida standout. Plenty of coaches are stopping by Lake Mary during this spring evaluation period, and Washington is hoping to show them what he can do. "I want them to know that I'm physical. I know that's been a question about some of my play. I'm an aggressive football player, and I'm a ball hawk. I play the ball in the air a lot and can cover," he said. He also plans to get out and do some camping this summer and show those coaches his abilities as well. "I'm definitely going to go to every Florida camp, I know that much. All the Florida schools, I'll be there," he said. The decision timeline is up in the air for Washington, it all depends on when the offers roll in and how the summer trips go. "I'll be looking for a great program, a great school first, the education is always first, and if it's the right fit for me and a good place," he said.
