Charlotte (N.C.)-native CB Jaire Alexander committed to the University of South Carolina on Monday…
Alexander gives the latest
Jaire Alexander committed to UNC-Charlotte in late February. "When I visited, I loved it there," said the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Alexander. "They treated me like family – like I already went to the school there." "I'm real close with coaching staff, too. And I also know a lot of players that go there and they've told me a lot of good things about the program." Although he is committed to the 49ers, scholarship offers are piling up and Alexander is well in to double digits. "Some of those schools include Ball State, Connecticut, Louisville, Marshall and Temple among others. Duke, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wake Forest are also showing interest. Despite all the offers and interest, Alexander said his commitment to UNC-Charlotte is solid. However, he will take some trips this summer. "I'm camping at Duke, Wake Forest, Tennessee and South Carolina," he said. "I'm going to try to visit all the schools that have offered, but I know I'm visiting Temple, Marshall and Louisville." He is looking forward to his senior campaign. "I'm going to be a captain this year, so I have to be even more of a leader," Alexander said. "I'm also going to try to have more of an impact on offense. And as a team, we're trying to win a state championship.
