McGee wanted by many
Rutgers is the latest to offer three-star safety Khalid McGee. McGee spoke with Defensive Coordinator Joe Rossi and Assistant Director of Player Personnel Phil Galiano Tuesday and picked up the offer. "I love coach Galiano. He coached a lot of my friends, so I feel like he's a great coach," McGee said. "They love that I'm very aggressive, I can play anywhere on the field. I fit in their defensive scheme. I'd fit perfect in their scheme." The 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete agrees that he would fit well into the Rutgers defense. "I love that their defense sends a lot of blitzes. I love to blitz a lot, so I feel like I'd fit right in their program," he said. The Miami (Fla.) Northwestern star comes from the same high school as former Rutgers receiver, Tim Brown. McGee is interested in Rutgers and would like to visit campus. "I hope to visit in the future, I just don't know what date I'm going to visit. I'll try to get up there in the fall because I want to see the atmosphere of the games," he said. McGee will likely take several visits this summer, he just isn't sure where and when yet. Besides Rutgers, he has his eye on a few others. "I like Wisconsin, I like Louisville, I like West Virginia. That's it right now, those are the top schools right now," he said. Wisconsin "I'm very good friends with (incoming freshman) George Rushing, he always tells me about Wisconsin and tells me I should come up there with him. I love the coach, (receivers) coach (Chris) Beatty, he's a great guy. I'd love to go to Wisconsin too." West Virginia "They have a lot of guys from the South Florida area committed or even signed there, so I'd love to go up there with those guys and (linebackers) coach (Damon) Cogdell. I know coach Cogdell very well because I was at Miramar (High School) for a time." Louisville "They love the Miami Northwestern guys up there. I'd love to go up there and fit in with the Miami Northwestern guys." McGee had previously been high on Florida State, but his interest there has faded as the Seminoles have added a few defensive back commitments. "I want to go and play early," he said.
