May 31 may have been the end of the spring evaluation period, but it was still a big news week in CenTex...
His decision had the Twitterverse talking:
512 BOOM!!— Bobby Jack Wright (@OU_CoachWright) June 3, 2014
With the recent string of decommitments from the Sooners' 2015 recruiting class, it's obvious that the addition of Mbanasor, a highly targeted prospect, is huge for OU recruiting.
McCrary's other offers included UTSA, Texas State, North Texas, and New Mexico. For more, here's a quick COMMITMENT RECAP.
• BOERNE QUARTERBACK OFFERED BY TIDE: In early 2014, I interviewed Boerne's Quinten Dormady, who had been hearing from a few programs but held no offers after missing his junior season with an injury.
Fast forward four months and Dormady has become one of the biggest names in CenTex, with offers from TCU, Kentucky, and Oklahoma State, among others. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder picked up his biggest offer to date: Alanbama.
Blessed to have received an offer from Alabama today! #RollTide— Quinten Dormady (@qdormady) June 4, 2014
Dormady told Bama Mag's John Garcia Jr. that he plans to make a decision before his senior season. For more, read Garcia's "SABAN, KIFFIN OFFER DORMADY".
• TIGHT END TO ENROLL EARLY IN SEC: Marble Falls tight end Hanner Shipley said over the weekend that he is working towards GRADUATING IN DECEMBER so he can participate in spring ball at LSU. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound athlete was out at the Lake Travis 7on7 over the weekend (HIGHLIGHTS HERE!), where he noted that though he could potentially switch to offensive lineman for his senior year, the Tigers' coaches are still talking about putting him at tight end.
• QUICK HITTERS...
-Waco Midway quarterback Ben Hicks, a Houston commit, picked up a coveted invite to the Elite 11 finals, held in July on Nike's Oregon Campus. Hicks attended two regional camp qualifiers and is one of only eighteen signal-callers from around the country invited to the camp.
-Temple quarterback Chad President, a Baylor commit, missed most of his junior season after tearing his ACL. However, President has recovered nicely and on Wednesday, clocked in the 40 at 4.39 and 4.42.
