Cooks Holds Two Offers
Mark Cooks, a 6-foot-1, 170-pounder from Plano (Texas) West caught our eye this spring laying cornerback. He was a team leader and dependable in coverage, with Premium size. "I bring a lot of energy to the team," Cooks explained of his strengths. "I am a hard worker. I like working with my teammates." Colleges are starting to notice his talents, two offers have already came in and he is thrilled, but further motivated by the attention. "Illinois State, Arkansas State, Northern Illinois and that is about it," said Cooks who also listed Tulsa, Arkansas and Oklahoma as schools of interest. "I have offers from Illinois State and Arkansas State." "It (the first offer) made my confidence level go up a lot. It makes me want to keep playing and being competitive." Cooks stood out as a corner, but could play safety or receiver on the next level as well. Schools see him as an athlete. "I am am being targeted as an athlete," Cooks confirmed. "I am on both sides of the ball. I am a kick returner, punt return. I play wildcat, so I am being recruited as an athlete." Plano West will host a state qualifying seven-on-seven tournament this Saturday.
