The West recruiting team looks at who will emerge even more during the summer camp circuit..…
Humphreys ready for camp season
Ben Humphreys is one of the top players out West and currently rated the No. 216 prospect in the nation. He's being recruited as a linebacker, receiver and safety and will be participating in The Opening in early July. Humphreys has well over double digit offers but two schools he's still waiting on are Stanford and USC. He'll camp with both schools later this summer. "Stanford's camp is a full contact camp next Thursday and Friday," Humphreys said. "They've been recruiting me hard and it would be great to get an offer from them. "I'm also going to camp with USC for their Rising Stars Camp but I'm not sure the exact date yet. USC likes me as outside linebacker, Stanford is recruiting me as a safety and that's what I'll be playing this year at Mater Dei too." Humphreys has strong ties to Stanford as both parents are alums and his older sister is on the Cardinal volleyball team. An offer from Stanford could be tough to beat but the athlete said he isn't in any rush to make a decision anywhere. "I want to take my official visits," Humphreys said. "I visited Washington over spring break and loved it there. I wasn't around the team that much when I was there so I would like to do an official and spend more time with the players and coaches. "Duke is another school I would like to visit, they have a nice combination of academics and athletics and I'm very interested in them. After that, I'm not sure where I'll go. I have a lot of schools I'm still interested in but right now, I'm just focusing on these upcoming camps and hopefully landing an offer from them."
