#GunsUp for Wilder

Scout.com caught up with Katy defensive back Collin Wilder from Texas, who tonight decided to take his talents to the Big 12 program that first recognized his game.

It was about two weeks ago that Katy (Tex.) defender Collin Wilder said that a number of other programs were in pursuit of him. But no matter what, the always had a place for the first school that offered a scholarship more than a year ago.

"With Texas Tech, I absolutely have a close connection with them. I keep in touch with the coaches and they will be a front runner until the end," Wilder said a few weeks back. "I feel pretty good about the Red Raider program."

Well, it's obvious that this feeling was real. On Father's Day 2014, the 5-foot-11, 186-pound Wilder made the call.

He announced this via twitter.

"After a lot of prayer and guidance, I have decided to verbally commit to Texas Tech University! #GunsUp."

As stated, the Red Raiders was the only offer in hand for Wilder, though Nebraska, TCU and Baylor started showing some interest as of late.

Wilder was a big part of the championship caliber Katy program where he recorded 115 tackles, nine pass break ups and five interceptions.
