DFW Weekly Recruiting Notebook

Another week, another flurry of commitments in the DFW Metroplex. Scout.com recaps all the action we tracked down from June 9-15.

The end of the spring evaluation period has brought almost 20 commitments in the first two weeks of June in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The past week started with Kennedale 2015 running back Juwan Washington announcing his commitment to San Diego State. The speedster is San Diego State's second DFW-area running back commitment, following DeSoto's Jatory Sparks-Brown.

Tuesday saw a trio of commitments. The headliner may have been Dallas Jesuit 2015 quarterback Bo Schneider's pledge to Central Florida, which Scout.com national analyst Greg Powers confirmed. At 6-foot-4, 217 pounds, Schneider (pictured above) fits the profile of the big-armed passer that UCF has enjoyed in recent seasons with 2015 No. 3 overall draft pick Blake Bortles.

Southlake Carroll 2015 safety Andy Chelf committed Tuesday to Purdue, while Mansfield 2015 safety Julius Lewis committed the same day to TCU.

Wednesday was another busy day, starting with the Clemson commitment from Argyle 2016 tight end J.C. Chalk, who is the grandson of college coaching legend Gene Stallings.

The big news continued later in the day with Cedar Hill 2015 quarterback Justin McMillan committing on the spot to LSU after receiving an offer following an impressive performance at the Tigers' camp.

Oklahoma picked up a Thursday commitment from Lancaster 2015 offensive guard Dominique Hearne, while Friday brought a Nevada pledge from DeSoto 2015 safety E.J. Muhammad.

Another DeSoto 2015 prospect committed Saturday. Linebacker Chris Orr made the call, picking Wisconsin. Orr has football in his blood. His older brothers are Zachary Orr, an all-conference performer at North Texas who recently signed as a rookie free agent with the Baltimore Ravens, and Nick Orr, a 2014 TCU safety signee.

The week's commitments wrapped up Sunday with news of Sachse 2015 offensive lineman Ben Moye committing to Louisiana-Monroe.
