Official visits will play a key factor in the recruitment of five-star Malik Jefferson, who is…
Rowlett SQT: Recruiting Notebook
Cornerback Darrell Miller (Cedar Hill) is fresh off of a visit to Columbus, Ohio where he picked up an offer from the Buckeyes after attending a camp. Miller was impressed by the program and the school has become one of his favorites. When asked about what schools where standing out amongst a plethora of offers he answered with Boise State, Iowa and Tennessee. Scout's No. 1 outside linebacker Malik Jefferson (Mesquite Poteet) said he did not have any new recruiting news really, but then dropped the hammer with saying that he had three schools on his mind for official trips in Ohio State, UCLA and Stanford. He has games in mind for those trips as well. Ohio State vs. Illinois. UCLA vs. Stanford. Stanford vs. Utah. Well the big news of the day came right as the event was breaking for lunch when the No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2016, offensive tackle Greg Little (Allen) announced his decision to play for Texas A&M on Twitter. Funny story here, I had just interviewed him about an hour before the announcement and talked about other favorites on his offer list such as Alabama and LSU. bad news for the Aggies SEC foes as this five-star is staying in-state and taking his talents to College Station. Middle linebacker and Class of 2017 recruit Anthony Hines (Plano East) is one of the most heavily recruited players inthe counntry, he has 42 total offers now, oh and did I mention he is only a Class of 2017 prospect and yes you read that right 42. Despite all of the attention he says the he remains committed to Mississippi State, the school that was No. 1 on the offer list of the 42. Keep an eye on the recruitment of wide receiver D'Aundrey Bradley (Cedar Hill). The big-framed wide receiver showed his upisde by making a nifty move to get up the sideline for a big play late in the game to secure a big win over Highland Park. It was no surprsie to learn afterwards thathe had secured his first offer from New Mexico State. Look for his name to continue to pick up steam as he is a true outside receiver who will also benefit a strong rushing game. Running back Charles West (Coppell) got some big news earlier this week when he received an offer from Arkansas. That adds a major conference offer to his ever growing list. He has a West Coast tour on tap as he hopes to get out to schools like USC, UCLA, Cal and Stanford to show his skill sets. He is hopeful that similar results will produce more offers. He is one of the top talents in the area and was one of the stars of the event, if not the MVP. Scout four-star athlete DeAndre McNeal was not in attendance because he was traveling back from Ohio after attending a camp at Ohio State.
