Weekend Visits for 3-Star RB
Sachse (Texas) 2015 running back Devine Ozigbo has been one of DFW's fastest-rising prospects during the past couple of months. Ozigbo plans to make a two-campus trek northward this weekend, hitting Iowa and Iowa State for unofficial visits. According to AllCyclones.com, Ozigbo will spend the first half of the weekend in Iowa City, then visit Ames on Sunday. The 5-foot-11, 230-pound three-star tailback has gone from single-digit offers to more than 20. On Sunday evening, Ozigbo named a top eight, with the caveat that it could change: Iowa Wisconsin Boise State Boston College Kansas Mississippi State Iowa State Kansas State Ozigbo announced those eight, then followed the list with, "No order! Will consider others." As you can see, both schools Ozigbo will visit this weekend were in his initial top eight. Four of Ozigbo's offers come from the Big Ten: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, which is another school he potentially visit at some point. Ozigbo also has offers from Army, Colorado State, Miami, San Diego State, SMU, Syracuse, Tulsa, UNLV, UTSA, Utah, Utah State, and Wake Forest. Ozigbo ran for 947 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior in 2013, when he also caught 23 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns, helping Sachse to an 11-1 season. Ozigbo impressed Scout.com staff at the April 6 Dallas Nike Football Training Camp at DeSoto High School, where he proved himself among the top running backs in attendance along with 2017 phenom and LSU commit Dylan Moses. Ozigbo possesses an impressive combination of size and athleticism. He's an every-down back in the true sense of the label since he's effective out of the backfield and big and physical enough to sacrifice his body in blitz protection situations. Not only did Ozigbo impress in position-specific drills at the Dallas NFTC in April, but he tested well, too. At 230 pounds, he ran a laser-timed 4.73 40, which is quite respectable such a big back, especially since it's a verified timing. He also had a solid 4.34 pro agility time and a 32.4-inch vertical for a strong SPARQ score of 95.52.
