Busy Camp Time for Avery

Grand Blanc (Mich.) cornerback Trevon Avery talks about his camp tour and the schools interested in him.

Grand Blanc's Trevon Avery is a versatile kid who has played quarterback throughout his Bobcats career, but is being recruited by schools as a cornerback or athlete.

This Summer has been a chance for him to get out on the camp circuit and show colleges what he is capable of.

"In general, it would be between Toledo and Michigan State [that are recruiting me hardest]," he said. "I also went to camps with Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. I also went to the Elite 11 Regional for quarterbacks and the NIKE Football Training Camp."

Michigan is where his older brother Courtney played and he has had some contact from the Wolverines.

"They just told me to come to camp again this year and based off of how I do possibly gain an offer."

Besides concentrating on his recruitment, Avery has also been working hard on improving his game, both for college and for his senior season -- with a little help from a familiar face of course.

"I've worked on getting bigger, try to put on some more weight on and touching up on my DB skills. My brother helps me out a lot."
