Amey Visits Top Two
Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon High School class of 2015 cornerback prospect Travis Amey has camped with or made unofficial visits to several of the schools he has scholarship offers from this summer. Amey will make an unofficial visit to Marshall, the leader in his recruitment at the present time, this week to see check out campus and spend time with the Thundering Herd coaching staff. Last week, the 5-foot-10 and 165-pound rising senior visited Georgia State and South Alabama. "Right now, South Alabama, they are in my top two. I like the facilities and the coaches are very nice. I spoke to the head coach (Joey Jones). Everything about the trip had positive energy," said Amey of his visit with the Jaguars. Amey also enjoyed his visit to Georgia State. "I went up to Georgia State last weekend and it was a nice, nice school," said Amey. The speedy defender will get a chance to compare and contrast his top two schools when he visits Marshall this week. "I have a good relationship with the coaches. They have good tradition at Marshall. They love one another, I talk to some of their players a lot, almost everyday," explained Amey of why the Thundering Herd lead in his recruitment. Amey, who was in attendance but did not participate at FAU's camp in Tallahassee, went on to say that East Carolina and Troy would round out his current top four. The Pirates received an unofficial visit from Amey in April. He has also been hearing a lot from Florida State, Iowa State and North Carolina State this summer. Akron, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern and Old Dominion have also offered Amey. Please check back with Scout.com for future updates on Travis Amey.
