Big Ten Offer for Mayden
The offer list continues to grow for Sachse High School 2016 cornerback Jared Mayden. During the past couple of months, the Scout.com four-star prospect has become a popular recruiting target of programs across the country. Mayden's offer list now sits at 23 schools after his latest offer, which he reported just before 11 a.m. Thursday: Just received an offer from Ohio St. ???? pic.twitter.com/ZKCGMM8nc2— Jared Mayden II (@MaydenII) June 26, 2014 Ohio State is seventh Big Ten program to offer Mayden, who also has offers from Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue, and Wisconsin. Ohio State offered Mayden two days after he picked up an offer from Colorado, which is his second Pac-12 offer joining UCLA. Mayden is one of the top prospects in the state of Texas in the 2016 class. In addition to his early four-star rating, Scout ranks Mayden at No. 8 in the Midlands Top 50 for his grade. At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Mayden possesses elite size for a cornerback prospect and pairs it with an impressive skill set that make him such a valued commodity at his position. Ohio State recently offered another Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex cornerback: Cedar Hill 2015 three-star prospect Darrell Miller, who got his Buckeyes offer during an unofficial visit to Columbus last week. Mayden is part of a Sachse program that continues to build momentum on and off the field. Sachse finished 11-1 in 2013 and returns several key players, including Mayden, 2016 receiver Devin Duvernay, and 2015 running back Devine Ozigob. Duvernay, who also has more than 20 offers, is also an early Scout four-star and is ranked No. 4 overall in the Midlands Top 50 for 2016. Ozigbo, a three-star prospect, owns 23 offers as well. The 5-foot-11, 230-pounder is a well-balanced prospect with power and agility who can also be a threat in the passing game.
