Anthony Hines, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker from Plano (Texas) East High already has more scholarships than most of the highly recruited upper classmen.
Schools like Mississippi State (committed), Clemson, Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, UCLA, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Washington have all joined the offer parade.
Hines is taking it all in stride, and has a mature approach to all of the attention that he has had.
"It's a blessing each opportunity I received," Hines explained. It is rare, not everybody gets the opportunities that I am getting and I am just out here trying to work hard, so I can keep my skill up so I can prove I deserve these opportunities."
Hines will be playing for his home school district (Plano East) in 2014 after playing his freshman season at Dallas Episcopal.
"I believe I am adjusting well," Hines said of the jump from private school to 6A competition.
"The spring game was great. It is definitely tougher competition, but I have adjusted and upped my game."
Hines is also handling the whole recruiting process with class as well, which can be tough for some in his situation as the offers have poured in since he made his commitment to play at Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs were his first offer and he has not yet waivered from making the early decision, even though he will be continuing to monitor the entire recruiting picture.
After all as he pointed out he still has three entire years left of high school ball to play before he can ink his name on a letter of intent.
"I am still committed to Mississippi State, but my parents are driving me to explore all of my options, because it is early and I still have three years left," Hines said.
"You know all of these recent offers -- the recent string of offers I have had -- Ohio State, Michigan, definite A&M (Texas A&M), OU (Oklahoma). There are just so many. 42 of them. I really have to start narrowing it down -- the ones behind Mississippi State down."
Hines racked up 125 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, nine sacks and three forced fumbles as a freshman in 2013.
