From that group, he will select one in the near future to commit to.
"I will probably commit by the end of July," said Horton. "I have taken a lot of visits, I have done a lot of research on schools, and I will commit when I feel right about it."
Horton, a three-star offensive guard on Scout is being recruited as an offensive lineman by each finalist other than Florida, the Gators like him as a defensive tackle.
He has visited each of the six schools outside of LSU. Horton said he may trip to Florida or Georgia in the coming weeks, but he may not need another visit before making his decision.
The 6-foot-4, 310 pound senior out of Atlanta Lakeside feels he is close to making one of the biggest decisions of his life.
"I have been talking to my mom about it (Recruiting process), I am praying about it, and things are falling into place," said Horton.
"I am just going to go with my heart. The position doesn't matter to me -- the main thing is just how I feel. I will choose the school I feel is right for me."
