The Opening: Previewing Holton Hill

Scout.com is profiling each member from the Midlands Region heading to The Opening next week at Nike's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and in this installment we look at uncommitted four-star defensive back Holton Hill.

Holton Hill

7v7 Team: Mach Speed
Position: CB
HT: 6'2 | WT: 180
Lamar (Texas)

Recruiting: Hill is one of the most heavily pursued uncommitted recruits in the country, as schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, LSU, Alabama and Florida State are all still in heavy pursuit.

Scouting Report: Much like teammate and top 2014 recruit John Bonney, Hill is a versatile defensive back, who could actually end up playing safety or corner on the next level. He has terrific size and a frame that looks like he will be much bigger by the time he leaves high school. He is not afraid to come up and lay the wood and flies to the football making sound tackles and making his presence known. Will get better and better with more experience.

At Stake: Is as talented as they come, but in a stacked year for regional talent he finds himself just outside of the national Top 100, a list he could firmly put himself on with a strong showing at the most prestigous national pre-season event.
