Thomas a JUCO WR to know
Fort Scott CC wideout Shawn Thomas is a junior college prospect beginning to emerge. The 6-foot-1, 185 pound receiver already has offers from South Alabama and Arkansas State but other schools are keeping close tabs on him as well. "I've also heard from Arkansas," Thomas said. "I've spoken with Boise State, Illinois, Northern Illinois, and a few other schools. THey all have asked if I can get out in December. They want me to enroll early, and I'm on pace to do that." There's another school showing strong interest and an offer could be coming soon, Thomas believes. "West Virginia might be close to offering," he pointed out. "They keep contacting me. They want to know more about me. They've been in contact with my coaches. They want to know more about me as a player and as a person." West Virginia's conference affiliation is a positive impact for the Mountaineers in the recruitment of Thomas. "I really like them," he explained about West Virginia. "It's a Big 12 school, and that's the conference I'd like to play in. That conference passes the ball a lot. I liked Stedman Bailey and I think I can do a lot of the things that he did for them. I'd like to attend any school in that conference. I hope to hear from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, or Texas Tech as well." The offer from Arkansas State will not be forgotten, either. "I talk some with them," Thomas noted. "I speak with most of the coaches there. I like them quite a bit. They're pretty decent. It's nice to know that I can go in there and play right away automatically."
