Texas 7v7: Tyreik Gray
Houston (Texas) Lamar saw a few changes to their offense in the off-season, including the addition of 6-foot, 190-pound running back Tyreik Gray, who was in attendance for the Texas State 7v7 Tournament last weekend. "We played pretty well this weekend. We came together as a team, especially compared to when we started at the beginning of the summer. I wish we would have won it, but it's been good," he said. Gray says his time with Texans has helped him grow on the field, as he's seen improvement in both his hands and footwork. "I definitely want to take visits to Oklahoma, Louisville, and Kansas." "I've really been working on everything. That's my focus this summer; to work out with my team and help us try to grow as a family. I want to win state, and I really think we can do it this year," he said. Despite the recent move, many college programs are vying for the running back, as Gray holds offers including Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Louisville, Baylor, and Arizona State. "I don't have any camp plans right now, but I definitely want to take visits to Oklahoma, Louisville, and Kansas," he said. Though he's being recruited at both running back and cornerback, Gray says he's hoping to play the former. "I love being at running back. I like the ball in my hands," he said. As far as a timeline, Gray says he's in no hurry to make a decision about his commitment. "I'm taking things slowly, waiting until football season starts to see who I like and who I will consider taking my visits to," he said.
