Orange Park (Fla.) Fleming Island High School class of 2015 fullback prospect Vincent Buzzy has started to receive some interest from two in-state programs this summer. The 6-foot-0 and 240-pound rising senior has gotten the attention of Florida International and South Florida after camping with both programs earlier this summer. In fact, Buzzy will camp with the Bulls again on Saturday night in Tampa.
”I’ve only been talking to a couple of schools right now. This weekend I am going to Tampa for their Saturday Night Live camp and taking my unofficial visit down there,” Buzzy said.
The physical blocker has already been on USF’s campus this summer and seen the facilities. He says the thing he is most looking forward to on this trip is interacting with the coaches.
”I’ve talked to the coach a couple of times. They say they like my size at fullback and they are looking for a fullback to offer a scholarship to. USF likes my footwork for my size and my speed for size,” Buzzy said of his USF recruitment.
Florida International also plans on keeping tabs on Buzzy during the 2014 season.
”FIU says that I am on their board still but they have already offered a couple of fullbacks. They are going to evaluate me the first couple of games of the season,’ Buzzy said.
Furman and Bucknell have also been in contact this summer according to the big blocking back.
