It didn't take long for the Cardinals to thrown their name in the hat for Tears, after reaching out to him Thursday morning they offered him hours later.
"Well they are in the ACC that's one thing," Tears said. "I don't really know that much about them but I know know from watching them that it's a hell of a football program."
He added, "But i'm sure I will grow to love them."
Tears plays is a fast paced, and deceivingly smooth receiver who has received interest from all around the Big Ten. In fact, in the spring he visited Nebraska and was committed to the Huskers for a short time until he decided he needed more time to evaluate the process.
As Tears took a step back from his recruitment, it slowed down. It's picking up steam quickly again as his senior season approaches.
"The offer was surprising," Tears said. "I'm thinking I am waking up and talking to the same coaches as usual and then out of no where comes another coach saying they want to offer me."
For the 6-foot-2, 180 pound three-star receiver, all Louisville needed was a look at his film.
"Coach got straight to the point," Tears said. "He said after they watched my film this morning we want to offer you a scholarship."
And where do they stack up?
"No doubt at the top," Tears said.
