Cade Carney’s recruitment continues to gain momentum.
He was able to visit Georgia Tech and East Carolina this summer, as well as camps at North Carolina, Duke and Clemson. Carney enjoyed each, but one trip stood out.
”The Freak Show at North Carolina really got my attention,” he said. “They do such a good job of hyping it up and making it a big deal. It was definitely a good experience.
”Everyone made you feel so welcome. We got to hang out with the coaches and do a lot more than just football stuff. We got hang out in the lounge, try on jerseys and get in the weight room.
”I talked to (defensive line) coach (Keith) Gilmore the most. He’s my recruiting coach and I’ve known him since my freshman year. We’re getting closer every time we talk.”
What’s next for Carney?
”I’m going to try to visit the schools that have offered for games, so I can see each team play,” he said. “Other than that, I’m going to try to focus on high school football and being a high school athlete.”
Carney claims no favorites, but said he would like to have his college decision made before his senior season.
