Newbold Looking To Make An Impact

Miami Carol City athlete Steven Newbold is expected to make his mark this season as a wide receiver and defensive back. Newbold has the speed to be a difference maker for his team.

Miami Carol City is expecting big thins this season from junior athlete Steven Newbold, who will play wide receiver and cornerback for his team.

Newbold, 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, showed flashes of speed last year as a sophomore and is a player to watch in Florida for the 2016 class.

"I played some varsity last year and I thought I did really well," Newbold stated. "My speed is what I'm known for, and I'm going to be playing both ways this season. A lot of colleges were at my school this spring and saw me play."

Although he holds no offers, Newbold is looking to use this season to springboard his recruitment.

"I'm just starting to see schools starting to know me," he explained. "Right now, Miami of Florida and Nebraska were the two schools that spoke to my coach about me. I'm hoping to hear from a lot more."

"I would say my dream school is The "U", and I've been a big Miami fan all my life," he admitted. "If it's a one-on-one situation, I think I can beat anyone, and hopefully colleges will see that this year."
