Caleb Wilson is a big, strong armed quarterback who looked very comfortable leading the Serra offense last Friday. We saw him multiple times over the spring playing for the Frat Boys on the 7v7 circuit and he has made some nice strides and improved in all areas since we first saw him.
"I've been here 4-5 months now and I'm very comfortable," Wilson said last Friday after practice. "It has really been an easy adjustment for me and I'm surrounded by great people and great teammates. Serra is a great school and definitely feels like home.
"Today was our first day in pads and I think it went OK. We're still getting used to each other and getting used to the offense but it's coming along. I like our team a lot and I think we're just going to keep getting better."
Wilson missed most of his junior season with an injury after a strong sophomore year so recruiting has been a little slow to get going.
"The main schools I'm hearing from are Colorado, Louisiana Monroe, Arkansas State and Louisiana Lafayette," Wilson said. "I have an offer from Central Arkansas but most schools are saying they want to see me as a senior first since I missed my season last year.
"I really like Colorado a lot right now, that's my leader. I camped there this summer and really liked it there and my dad coached there in the past and had nothing but good things to say about the place. So my plan moving forward is just to go out and have a great season and then after the first few games, get my tape out. Hopefully we get off to a strong start and I'm confident we will."
