Quinn Oseland profile

Pos Rank: #66 OT
State Rank:
#17
6-6 | 303
Offensive Tackle
Springfield (Ill.) Sacred Heart Griffin

His Recruiting Story:
A good sophomore season started the recruiting attention for Oseland as he visited several Big Ten schools that Spring. Illinois became the first to offer and soon schools like Oregon and Cal would offer. That would continue as Michigan State, Minnesota and others extended offers. He would get out west and visit some schools, but just before the start of his senior season, he ended his recruitment, committing to Minnesota.

Quotable:
"Just looking at all my options, I decided and knew that Minnesota was the best one for me. The coaches were all very excited when I committed. And happy that I did."

Where We've Seen Him:
NIKE Football Training Camp (2014, 2013), Michigan Camp (2013), Illinois Camp (2013), Highlight Film (2013)

Scouting Report:
Oseland has a prototypical frame. He's a big kid who uses that size to move bodies in the run game. He moves his feet well and shows good leg drive. In pass protection, he has a solid base and a strong punch. He can still improve overall quickness and flexibility, but does a solid job when asked to get into space and block on the move. He will come into college with solid technique already.

Overall:
Oseland is a good fit at Minnesota, who is accustomed to having big offensive linemen. Once he gets into their strength and conditioning program, he should make some big gains. We see a redshirt year and then him competing for time in year two.
