Four-star ATH Cassius Peat schedules first official visit
A Closer Look: Arizona State Rankings
Right down the street at rival Chaparral, offensive tackle Keenan Walker earns the number two spot.
Big athletes grab the next two spots. Cassius Peat from Corona del Sol and Dedrick Young from Peoria Centennial are coveted as prospects partly because of how versatile they are. Scout lists both as outside linebackers but Young has offers as a running back while Peat could play defensive end or tight end.
Arizona State has done very well, securing commitments from three of the state's top ten prospects. Chandler quarterback Bryce Perkins, Gilbert offensive tackle Steve Miller and Gilbert Williams Field offensive tackle Cade Cote come in at numbers 6, 8 and 9 respectively.
It has been quite some time since Yuma has produced an FBS player from the prep ranks but Yuma Catholic tight end Matt Pistone is a good one and has committed to Oregon State.
At this point, 14 of the state's top 25 prospects have already made verbal commitments.
Talent in Tucson
Southern Arizona has come talented players in the 2014 class. Six players in the state's top 30 hail from the Tucson area. Salpointe Catholic linebacker Taylor Powell leads the way.
