Dillan Gibbons (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northside Christian) is one of the top 2017 offensive tackle recruits from the Sunshine State. He recently transferred from St. Petersburg Catholic to Northside Christian.
”Dillan fits right in,” said Shannon Gibbons, Dillan’s father. “Everyone loves him there. He’s had a good response with the move.”
Gibbons, 6-foot-5, 284-pounds, is only a sophomore who just turned 15-years old. His older brother Reilly just signed with Stanford and was a member of the Cardinal 2014 class.
”Dillan camped at Stanford and did well well,” Gibbons said. “He just loved it. In fact, he made the final two in their board drills. That’s pretty good for a freshman [at the time].”
At the same stage, Dillan is bigger and longer than Reilly. In defense of his older brother, he didn’t begin to play offensive tackle until the spring of his sophomore year, making the move from tight end. In fact right now Dillan has longer arms and bigger hands than Reilly.
Stanford has yet to offer Dillan but teams like Ohio State, Louisville, South Carolina and Cincinnati have already. Keep a close eye on this 2017 offensive lineman from the Sunshine State. He has a chance to be one of the best in the state.
