Riley is a promising '16 prospect to watch

As if they needed any help, Anaheim (Calif.) Servite landed a handful of talented transfers over the summer including former Riverside (Calif.) King athlete Keyon Riley.

Our friends at Under the Radar tipped us off that Servite had a good looking junior prospect named Keyon Riley, who played at Riverside King last year. After seeing Riley for ourselves last week, he definitely looks the part of a future Div I player.

Riley looks about 6-0, 185 pounds with an athletic frame. He runs well, plays with a physical presence to him and shows the versatility to play multiple positions at the next level.

"I played corner at King but I'm playing outside 'backer, corner and safety here plus all the special teams," Riley said. "I'm just trying to do whatever it takes to get on the field. We have so much talent here but I'm really comfortable and like my teammates a lot.

"I've been here about two months so far and the guys have been great with me. There's a lot of competition everywhere and with the receivers we have, it has made for some nice battles out there. I don't have a preference where I play, like I said, I'll do anything to help the team and will play wherever they want me."

Riley didn't do any summer camps and is hopeful a big junior season will get him on the map.

"Growing up, I actually liked Notre Dame a lot," Riley said. "I didn't really follow the local teams that much. I liked Notre Dame a lot, California and Washington. I'm not even sure why, I never had any relatives or anything at those schools but that's just how it was for me growing up.

"I'm open to everyone now though. They say your junior season is the biggest so I'm hoping to go ball out and pick up some interest from these schools. We should have a really good season and play a tough schedule so I'm excited to get going."
