According the Southern Guilford star, who had a chance to visit each school this summer, all five remain even at this time.
He gave a quick thought on each school.
Arkansas: “It’s running back university, so that stands out a lot,” said the 5-foot-11, 215-pound Gallaspy. “Coach (Bret) Bielema came over from over from Wisconsin and has a history of putting running backs in the NFL. His resume speaks for itself. I also love the area, the community and fanbase.”
Duke: “Coach (David) Cutcliffe is amazing and it’s amazing what he’s done, turning that program around. Now, a lot of guys are looking at going to play football there. It’s also school that offers one of the best educations in the nation.”
Michigan State: “I like that it’s close to my hometown and my dad. It’s also close to a lot of other family members and it would be an easy drive for them to come see me play. Plus, it’s a school I grew up watching. I also like the coaching staff and it’s a great overall program.”
NC State: “Coach (Dave) Doeren is a real good guy and the coaching staff is great. The area is also wonderful– being in the state capital. It’s not far from home either. Plus, the program is starting to turn around.”
Vanderbilt: “It’s one of the top schools in the nation education-wise. They have a great new coach in coach (Derek) Mason and I think he’s going to do a good job. Last year, they had a pretty good season and good recruiting class, and I believe they’re going to have a good season this year.”
What’s next for Gallaspy?
”I don’t have any officials set yet, but I’m planning to take all five,” he said. “But I'll have to see how the schedule goes. I’d like to take my officials as soon as possible.
"It’s not going to be long before I make my commitment because I’m down to the five schools that I’m really interested in. I’m also graduating early. I know for a fact I’ll be committing between September and October.”
