It was a hard night for Tallahassee Godby senior Jaylin Hayward. This three-star recruit hurt his knee during the summer and he had to spend the evening watching from the sidelines, as they travel south to take on a very good Bradenton IMG Academy team. Godby lost 32-13.
”Coming out here today was pretty emotional for me,” Hayward said. “Seeing my teammates play and I can’t contribute, that’s very hard. It was rough. I want to be there and help them. I will just have to make the most out of whatever I get later on this season.”
Hayway, 5-foot-10, 177-pounds, is an exciting player in all areas of the game – offense, defense and special teams. He’s just one of those guys that doesn’t care about where he’s playing, as long as he’s playing.
”It’s an ACL/MCL injury and they are saying I could be back during week 5. So I may miss half the year,” Hayward said. “Many thought I would miss the entire season but I will be back that quickly. For me, I just want to get out there. I just want to play. Same deal with college. It doesn’t matter if I am a wide receiver or corner. I just want to help out my teammates.”
”They are my most recent,” Hayward said. “I am not sure if those other offers fell off the tackle or not. I am not sure if there will be new teams or not. I am really not sure where things stand.”
