Michael Howard is an offensive tackle with an impressive scholarship offer list that may not be known as much as he should be.
He is a 6-foot-5, 251 pound senior out of Green Cove Springs (Fla.) Clay with a frame to dd weight, good feet, and length.
Many schools like what they see in Howard and he is still searching for the right one for him.
"I am trying to figure things out and narrow my list down some," said Howard. "I am just going day-by-day with it.
"My decision is probably going to come after I take my official visits. I still have a lot of thinking to do."
Howard is not ready to name favorites, but four schools seem to be in a good position. He mentioned six when asked about potential official visits.
"I have not set any visits up yet, so I have to find the dates that work during the season. Some of the visits could be after the season too."
"I am trying to build relationships with those who want to build them with me. That is important to me."
"I am looking hardest at the schools that are showing me the most interest. A lot of schools are recruiting me, but some harder than others right now."
Howard is a lean, athletic offensive tackle.
Official visits will be key in Howard's decision. The type of offense could play into his decision, but much more than that will be going through his mind during his official visits.
"I want to go where I can fit in," said Howard. "To me, Oregon fits my type and my playing style offensively, but many of the schools I am looking at do.
"I like schools that play fast - That is my style and that is what we play at Clay.
"I am looking at the type of offense, but academics are No. 1 for me in my decision. I am also looking at how I fit into the program overall and just where I feel the best at."
