The Texas offer has been expected for quite a while. Jones told Scout.com a couple of weeks ago that he thought it was coming soon. He also plans to visit Texas in the near future. Arkansas is the eighth SEC program to offer the talented underclassman

Jones, who took early August visits to LSU and Alabama, has offers from the following programs: Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Purdue, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulsa, USC, and Washington State.

Jones also tweeted Monday that he plans to attend Saturday's game in College Station between Texas A&M and Lamar. Jones has already visited College Station multiple times.

Jones had a breakout sophomore season in 2013, when he recored 95 tackles and five interceptions. He returned one pick for a score and a kickoff for a score.

Jones is part of a very talented secondary for Nacogdoches (Texas) High, which also has Oklahoma State 2015 four-star cornerback commit Jaylon Lane and 2016 prospect Corey Lane playing in its defensive backfield.

Nacogdoches opened the 2014 season this past Friday with an impressive 27-25 win against Kilgore (Texas).
