Eboh Lands Third Offer

2016 CB Obi Eboh

The second Power 5 conference offer arrived Monday for a 2016 four-star cornerback from the DFW Metroplex.

The third offer is in for Southlake (Texas) Carroll 2016 cornerback Obi Eboh.

Just after 4 p.m. Monday, Eboh alerted Scout.com via text that he had picked up an offer from an SEC West program.

"Just got offered by Mississippi State," he said.

Shortly after that, he announced the offer via Twitter as well.

Mississippi State is the second Power 5 conference offer for Eboh, who already had offers from Duke and Rice. The Owls were his first offer.

Scout rates Eboh as a four-star prospect and ranks him No. 24 among cornerbacks and No. 238 nationally in the Scout 300 for 2016. Eboh is also in the top 50 for the Midlands Region, coming in at No. 45.

Eboh first popped on Scout's radar in early May at the Dallas Nike Football SPARQ Combine at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Eboh measured 6-foot-1, 172 pounds and ran a laser-timed 4.57-second 40. He also clocked a 4.31-second pro agility time and recorded a 32.9-inch vertical leap.

Eboh played eight games as a sophomore in 2013, finishing with 23 tackles, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups for a Southlake Carroll team that finished 11-2.

Eboh, who has playing experience at cornerback and safety, has also gotten interest from Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas, and Texas Tech. Eboh has camped with Baylor, TCU, and Texas.

Carroll, one of Texas' most powerful programs, opened the 2014 season with a 17-14 home win against Westlake High School, a traditional Austin-area power.
