Scouting 5-Star CeCe Jefferson

CeCe Jefferson is a top five prospect in the country, so did he play like it to open the 2015 season? Scout's Chad Simmons breaks him down here and shows you video...

  • Prospect: CeCe Jefferson
  • Hometown: Glenn Saint Mary, Fla.
  • High School: Baker County
  • Class: 2015
  • Position: DE
  • Size: 6-3/258
  • Ranking on Scout: | No. 2 DE | No. 2 in Fla. | No. 5 overall

  • Recruiting: Jefferson does not talk about recruiting too much, but Florida is, and has been viewed as the favorite. Alabama, Florida State, and LSU are some of the other schools in the running for the five-star out of Florida. He does not plan to make a decision any time soon.

Game Evaluation: Jefferson is a force and he can take over a game when he wants to. At times in this game, he showed why he is ranked where he is by Scout. He also faded at times and was not involved. He wasn't set at times due to Ed White playing at a fast pace, but when he was set, and when he was fresh, he was elite. He flashed his explosion, his quickness around blockers, and his ability to affect each play. He is very athletic for a rush end with good length and closing speed. When he wants to, it is simple, Jefferson can be dominant. He needs to play with a little more consistency and when he does, he will be scary every play, not just most.
