The senior film is starting to roll in and Iowa's Nick Frere looks like the real diamond. He talks about his Iowa State verbal commitment.

Nick Frere, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker from Muscatine, Iowa is verbally committed to Iowa State. Is his commitment solid?

“I’m completely committed to Iowa State,” said Frere.

“My decision to commit to Iowa State was pretty easy. The coaches made me feel at home and it just felt like the best fit for me.

“I went to Iowa State’s camp as well and I also went to the (Ann Arbor) Nike Camp.”

Frere is a three-year varsity starter that was named honorable mention all-state as a junior.

Watching Frere on film, it looks like the Cyclones are getting a solid athlete that could help on either side of the football but look for linebacker to be his permanent home in Ames.

Most of the Big Ten and Big XII schools were recruiting Nick Frere prior to his commitment to Iowa State.
