SoCal QB Is Northwest Bound
We had just talked to Brian Hildebrand not too long ago, shortly after the Beavers took a commitment from NorCal standout C.J. Bacher. At the time, it appeared Hildebrand would have to look elsewhere since OSU had now taken two quarterbacks but that obviously wasn't the case. "I'm not afraid of competition, I actually thrive on it," Hildebrand said. "Oregon State was the first to offer me and they have been recruiting me the hardest this whole time. Originally, I wanted to go to UCLA pretty bad but I just got tired of waiting for an offer from them. I like Coach (Mike) Riley a lot and I like the offense they run at Oregon State. "I'll be taking my official visit this weekend and I'm looking forward to seeing the school and the campus. This will be my only visit, I'm going to Oregon State and don't have any plans to look around any more." Hildebrand, 6-2, 185 pounds is a late bloomer who shined this summer at the both the SoCal and NorCal Nike Camps. In fact, he was so impressive, he earned a spot in this year's EA SPORTS Elite 11 quarterback camp and hasn't even begun to reach his full potential as a quarterback. "Once he continues to get bigger and stronger and matures more, he's going to be a great player," Corona head coach John Brandom said. "He's already a great player and an ever better kid. He's like a son to me and he's one of the best players we've ever had here. Brian is a three year starter and a great leader. He's so tough and competitive, he just keeps battling and his work ethic is incredible. I think he'll do great things in the Pac 10 for Oregon State."
