Action Jackson rolling this season

Terrell Jackson

They call Terrell Jackson "Action Jackson" and the senior running back from Corona, California has had an amazing senior season and he is not finished yet.

They call him Action Jackson. That's an appropriate nickname for Terrell Jackson (5-9, 190) from Corona (Calif.) Centennial High School. The senior running back has had a sensational season, rushing for an amazing 2,517 yards and 42 touchdowns already this season, including a 413 yard rushing performance (5 touchdowns) in one game earlier this year. They are 9-3 going into the semi-finals this weekend. This is all following his grand junior campaign where Jackson rushed for 2,344 yards and 44 scores. Jackson has done this despite being a marked man.

"People are coming out and trying to kill me," Jackson said. "They have their spies on me. The bottom line is that I had to be more focused this season and run with more patience. I have had to pick my spots and wait. But everything has worked out great. Some of the other parts of my game have improved. I am better at pass protection and I worked on a spin move, my stiff arm and I have added some more power to my running style."

In regards to recruiting, Jackson has five favorites at the moment. He has already visited Arizona State (10-4) and will take visits to Oregon (12-5), Washington (12-12), California (1-9) and North Carolina (1-16).

"The ASU visit was nice. They gave me a lot of love. I have a former teammate there and he showed me a good time and I saw the good and bad which was good. They have a great campus and facilities.

"Oregon is a school that I have always liked. Coach Belloti doesn't care about size in recruiting a player. Some schools don't like my size. He's all about your heart not your size as long as you can play the game.

"I know that Washington situation was tough and I respect that coaching staff for the job they did under those circumstances. They had had injuries too. I applaud those coaches for handling that situation as best they could. And they beat Washington State.

"At Cal, Coach Tedford is an offensive mastermind. That might be the best place for me. Cal. was the first school to offer me and they have always stood out.

"UNC requested film on me the summer and then they offered me after they watched it. Since then, they have shown me a lot of love. Coach Bunting calls once a week. He's a great guy and a good coach. He will get them back on the right track."

Locally, USC and UCLA are not showing Jackson much interest. That's something that he uses to motivate him.

"Hey, that's part of the game. They are down on my size. But that helps to push me to be the best I can be and prove those people wrong. I know this, I plan on taking my visits and the visits will dictate just about everything in my decision."
