Andrew Pettes visit report
Andrew Pettes visit report
Northwest Recruiting Analyst
Posted Dec 12, 2003
Andrew Pettes is a 6-5, 240-pound tight end from Phoenix (Ariz.) Moon Valley and Pettes went all the way up to Pullman, Washington to visit Washington State this past weekend. Andrew has all five of his visits settled, including an earlier visit to the hometown Arizona State Sun Devils. How does WSU fit into the mix?
"It was good, I had a lot of fun," Pettes told TheInsiders.com Thursday. "My first trip was to
and they are in a big city. This one was in a smaller town, more of a college town. It was a good experience for me because I had never been to a town like that before, where everything revolved around the football team."
was Andrew's host. "He told me that when he went there it was the best decision he could have made for himself," said Pettes. "Everybody is family there and even though you are far away from your real family, you still have family there with you."
Andrew was very interested to see exactly how the Cougars used their tight ends and he wasn't disappointed. "The highlight of the visit was seeing practice," he said. "I got to see how they use their tight ends and you can tell that they try to get them the ball in a lot of different ways.
"Also, the people there were really nice and very easy to talk to."
While the Cougars earned four verbal commitments this past weekend, Pettes wasn't one of them, but WSU fans shouldn't take that as a negative. "I really liked
," Andrew said. "But I feel really good about all the schools I'm visiting and I know there's a lot out there.
"But if I find a place that I really like and just know it's the place for me, I won't hesitate to make my decision. I won't drag it out any longer than I have to."
Pettes will visit
this weekend and then has two visits in January, to
(1/16). Will he make those two trips? We'll see...
