San Antonio, Texas, RB Gary Green says he is planning to become a Jayhawk in the near future. "I'll commit to Kansas on Sunday night," said Madison High's Green.
"I'm expecting coach Mark Mangino, WR coach Tyrone Dixon and OL coach Ed Warinner at my house on Sunday and I'll make it official. I didn't commit over the phone because I want my parents to meet coach Mangino. They haven't talked to him yet.
"When I got back from Kansas (12/5), I really liked it and wanted to take the rest of my visits. Then, when I got back from UCLA (12/19), I knew I'd go to Kansas. If UCLA couldn't get me to go there, nobody could.
"UCLA's a wonderful place and I would have liked to go there too. It's so beautiful and I love everything: the weather, the campus. I just don't think I'd fit in as well there because I doubt I'd be an impact player there.
"I love that Kansas is an up-and-coming program and they said I'd have a chance to shine there early in my career. It's a great college town and they really treat you like family. It's more than just a team.
"I'm gonna cancel my Jan 16 trip to Texas Tech because I plan to commit. UCLA coaches and Arizona coaches are supposed to visit next week but I'll have to call and cancel when I commit."
Gary also visited Pittsburgh (11/28) and Wisconsin (12/12).
