Roselle, Illinois defensive back Kwame Agyeman is headed to the West Coast to play for the Oregon Ducks.
One of Illinois “Top 30” prospects made his verbal commitment Friday night (1-30) after his home basketball game in front of family and friends.
“I’m going to
Oregon
,” said safety
Kwame Agyeman
. “When I took my other visits, I had a feeling that I could see myself playing football and going to school there.
“When I visited Oregon, it was a feeling that I knew that I had to go there. Oregon was the best fit for me.
“I loved the campus, the facilities and the coaching staff. Oregon has one of the best Sports Management programs in the nation also.”
Agyeman, a 5-foot-11, 190-pounder from Roselle (Ill.) Lake Park was named all-state in 2003.
Mike Bellotti
and his staff have hit the Midwest hard in 2003 and have already started to plant seeds in 2004 with an offer to Bolingbrook, Illinois junior linebacker
Ryan Bain
.
It’s been extremely hard to get prospects from the Midwest to leave Big Ten country and several schools including some perennial powers have come to Big Ten country pursuing blue-chip prospects without much success.
The Ducks have a lot to sell, the campus is beautiful, the facilities are top notch and the support of the administration and fans are selling points for Oregon. Not to mention they have one of the best home field advantages in all of college football.
Oregon is in the Midwest to stay and Kwame Agyeman might have started the pipeline.
