Scouting Report - LB Eric Lines

Eric Lines has made over 200 tackles the past two seasons. What are his strengths? What are his weaknesses? We break it down for you right here.

Junior film is starting to roll in and that means evaluation time. Last night was a great start to the 2004 season as I had the chance to watch perhaps the best offensive guard prospect I’ve seen in 12 years of evaluating high school football players.

Today we shift gears to the defensive side of the football and talk about inside linebacker Eric Lines. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder from Morris, Illinois has over 200 tackles the past two seasons for the Redskins.

Lines has a great attitude, he loves to play the game and that shows on the field. He’s a legit 6-2 and he’ll need to add some weight to his 210-pound frame to play inside at the next level.

On the field, Eric shows he has a nose for the football, he can finish tackles and he can run sideline to sideline. He needs to keep improving on his pass drops and break on the football.

What I liked the most about Eric Lines is that he’s very fast and that makes him valuable because he could be an every down linebacker in college.

Morris recently sent linebacker Josh Tischer to Illinois and I feel that lines is just as good or maybe even more talented than Josh was but that will be for the college recruiters to judge.
