Apopka (Fla). High School has four talented prospects among the Class of 2005 – Quentin Taylor, Kadu Swift, Eric Sledge and Matt St. Fleurant. Taylor plays linebacker and fullback, Swift plays middle linebacker, Sledge plays safety (wide receiver this upcoming season and St. Fleurant plays cornerback. Below are video highlight packages of all four recruits.
Taylor is an impressive looking linebacker that is very active. Defensively, he fights off blocks real well and gets to the ball in a hurry. He’s a big hitter that’s aggressive and he runs well, both north-south and laterally. Offensively, he has deceptive speed, good feet and balance and runs with power. Taylor is also a good blocker.
Like Taylor, Swift is a very active linebacker in the middle. He is a tad small but he makes up for it with his style of play. Swift is a vicious hitter and takes on blocks exceptionally well. Swift can run sideline to sideline, is very quick and makes plays everywhere.
Sledge had a great MSL/TheInsiders.com combine in Gainesville last month playing at the wide receiver position. Look for him to play both ways this season. Defensively he shows good skills in pass coverage and is constantly around the ball making plays. But his future may be on offense.
St. Fleurant is a cover corner with good speed and size. He supports the run well and has the speed to stay with those quick receivers.
