Illinois lands Hot 100 Linebacker

Decatur (Ill.) Eisenhower linebacker Brit Miller was one of the top prospects at the Chicago MSL Combine and he also dominated during the summer combine circuit. Miller ended his recruitment by giving Ron Turner and Illinois his verbal commitment.

Brit Miller ran one of the better 40-yard times at the Chicago MSL Combine in March and he has been running consistent 4.45 40-yard dashes this summer.

More impressive than his size and speed at camps and combines is his play on film. How Brit goes, his team goes.

How versatile is Miller? He plays quarterback at 6-foot-1 and 234-pounds and he runs the option extremely well for his size.

Miller could and did score from just about every spot on the football field. Whether rushing or passing, Brit got the job done.

On defense, Brit is as solid as they come. He makes plays and can always be found around the football.

What position will he play for the Illini?

"I'm being recruited as an outside linebacker," Miller said.

"I committed to Illinois because I wanted to concentrate on my season and I didn't want any distractions.

"I'm the type of guy that will force the issue if I know there are college coaches in the stands watching me.

"That's not fair and I didn't want to do that to my teammates. Our goal is to get to the play-offs this year and I just didn't want any distractions.

"Illinois has a very good linebacker tradition and they put people in the league (NFL)."

Miller rushed for 1,106 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. He had 105 tackles, 73 solo tackles and 10 sacks on the defensive side of the ball.

Brit Miller is a "Top 10" prospect in the state of Illinois and he currently sits at #68 in the Midwest "Hot 100".

Look for Miller to jump into the "Top 50" of the Midwest "Hot 100" in August.
