“I received two offers in the last two days one from the University of New Mexico and the other from Florida Atlantic University,” stated Tyler Rice. “UNC and N.C. State are coming down to evaluate my academic status and talk with my coaches and everything next week. Also EKU, South Carolina, and some others are showing interest.”
In addition to fielding the always increasing interest from various coaching staffs, Rice has also ironed out his first official visit with the first school to tender him.
“I’ve also finalized plans to take an official visit to the University of Central Florida on December 3rd-5th,” the 6-foot-5, 285-pounder said.
Rice hopes to also schedule official visits with North Carolina, South Carolina and N.C. State, but claims he is completely open to any opportunity that should present itself.
“I still don’t have a favorite and won't until I’m done taking all my visits,” explained Rice. “The best fit will be where I spend the next 5 years.”
Despite battling a disappointing 2-7 season, Rice was able to excel individually. The lineman complied over 50 pancake blocks while also grading out in the 90’s every game.
