Last night, Florida State took their final crack sending the winningest coach in Division I-A history to visit the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder.
“Coach [Bobby] Bowden [of Florida State] stopped by today,” remarked Sexton. “We talked just last minute stuff. He told some stories, we talked about their history of quarterbacks, and what their plan was for me.”
Sexton enjoyed the visit, but admits the Seminoles made the final cut well before the visit.
“This visit doesn’t really affect my favorites,” explained Sexton. “I know what couple of schools I’m picking from and FSU is one of them.”
Although Sexton wouldn’t reveal what other schools join Florida State in making his final cut, he did display his enthusiasm for tomorrow’s in-home visit with Coach Steve Spurrier of South Carolina.
“Yeah I really am [excited],” stated Sexton, who is a big fan of the “Ol’ Ball Coach.” “I think half my town is going to be parked outside my house tomorrow.”
After the Coach Spurrier visit, Sexton figures to make his decision shortly there after. The rush for a verdict has much to do with Sexton’s choice to graduate in December and enroll in his chosen school in January.
