Rasheed Ward
, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound, wide receiver from Chicago (Harper) has a Big Ten scholarship offer but it may not be the one he’s looking for. Ward talks about his plans for the upcoming weeks and which schools are at the top of his wish list.
“Right now it’s still
Northwestern
,” said Ward. “I visited there a couple of weeks ago and they’ve offered me a scholarship.”
When Scout.com last spoke to Ward, he was considering Northwestern,
Kansas
,
Northern Illinois
and
Tennessee
. Have things changed?
“I’m not really hearing from Northern (
Illinois
) and Kansas anymore. I don’t know what’s going on with Tennessee. They haven’t been in contact either.” Ward said.
If everyone else is backing off and Northwestern has an offer on the table, why wouldn’t Ward jump on the Wildcat bandwagon? After all, Northwestern runs a wide receiver friendly offense and they are one of the finest academic institutions in America.
“I’m actually talking to
Wisconsin
right now.” Ward said. “They haven’t offered me yet but they’ve been calling.”
Recruiting classes fill up rather quickly and we see it year in and year out with prospects being left out in the cold because they waited to long to make a decision. Will this happen to Ward?
Usually a prospect, that waits to commit, has a little leverage on his side because he has multiple offers. That isn’t the case here.
Ward is a terrific receiver that has had back-to-back 1,000 yard receiving efforts.
