Posted Dec 27, 2004
The University of Illinois will get a visit from one of the top defensive line prospects in the state of Georgia.
says he’ll be in Champaign in late January to visit the Fighting Illini. Does Chu have a leader? When will he make his college decision? We have those answers and more.
“I have scholarship offers from
, East Carolina, Ball State, Middle Tennessee,
, Furman and Eastern Kentucky,” said
, a 6-foot-2, 275-pounder from Woodstock, Georgia.
“I really don’t have a leader. I know it’s late but I’m still open. I’m still talking to
and Southern Mississippi and they might offer me in January as well.
“I have two official visits set. I’m going to Purdue on the 14th of January and Illinois (1-21) the week after that.
“I’ll probably make my decision on or close to signing day. I don’t have timetable I’m working with.”
Immanuel Chu is a four-year varsity starter at Woodstock. He’s the first football player in the history of Woodstock football to start 40 games in a career at the varsity level.
“I faced a lot of double and triple teams this year but I still had about 70 solo tackles and five sacks.” Chu said.
Chu was named all-county as a junior and as a senior. He’s being recruited by most schools as a defensive tackle.
